Desktop Educators Cancellation & Payment Policies for 2025
A “Provider” is defined as an individual who renders tutoring services on behalf of this Company (Desktop Educators LLC).
A “Student” is defined as an individual who receives tutoring services from a Provider. If the Student is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal Guardian must take responsibility for payments.
Desktop Educators Late Cancellation Policy
If the Student must cancel or reschedule an appointment, the Company respectfully requests a written notification by text or email at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Cancellations or missed appointments without notice 24 hours in advance will result in a charge of the full amount of the service. Only 1 warning (grace period) will be given per Student when an appointment is cancelled/rescheduled within 24 hours after which the Student will be billed for the full price of the session for any further violations of this policy. If the Student has an emergency within 24 hours and notifies the Provider by text or email within said time frame, the Provider may waive the full price of the session at their sole discretion.
Desktop Educators Payment Policy
All appointments must be paid in advance or on the day service is rendered. Students making use of Step Up for Students funds through the Education Market Assistant (EMA) must reserve the funds for all appointments at least 24 hours in advance, or the session will be cancelled at the sole discretion of the Provider. Exceptions are made for Students who are awaiting Step Up funds to become available in the EMA. As such, the Provider will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to undertake sessions with delayed payments factoring into account the Student’s payment history. All other Students who pay out-of-pocket are expected to pay the full amount for each session in advance or on the same day a session has been conducted at the latest.
Emergency Sessions
Emergency sessions are only conducted online and are considered an emergency when scheduled less than 24 hours before the agreed appointment time between the Student and the Provider. The Provider’s emergency rate will be 1.5 times the regular rate on any day of the week including weekends. Accepted forms of payment include out-of-pocket and through reserved Step Up funds on the same day sessions are conducted.
