At Desktop Educators, we recognize that a key factor in students’ success in tutoring is the relationship between the tutor, student, and parent. A tutor must be not only knowledgeable in their subject but also consistently friendly, supportive, and patient to ensure effective learning. Without a strong connection and engagement, even the most adept tutor may struggle to foster the necessary rapport, which can impact a student’s performance significantly. Our tutors prioritize building these relationships, spending dedicated time not only in sessions but also in post-session updates to parents on their child’s progress. We firmly believe that a robust tutor-student relationship correlates directly with improved academic outcomes.

Sammy who is our certified teacher and dedicated tutor with over 5 years of experience working with diverse personalities and learning styles from Kindergarten through Grade 12 has consistently built positive relationships with students, empowering them to achieve their full potential.

Test Preparation

Understanding the importance of standardized tests for academic milestones like high school graduation, college admission, and scholarships, we collaborate closely with students and parents to create personalized plans. These plans incorporate tailored strategies and schedules designed to bridge the gap between current levels and desired goals. Our flexible approach adapts to individual circumstances such as available time, specific goals, and the scope of material to be mastered.

Each standardized test necessitates unique preparation methods. Some require extensive concept mastery, while others focus on understanding common question formats. While we utilize a variety of trusted study guides like Kaplan, Princeton Review, and Barrons, we go beyond mere content delivery. Drawing on years of expertise, we distill complex information into concise, visually and audibly engaging explanations. Through practical examples and guided practice problems, we ensure students not only comprehend concepts but also develop independent problem-solving skills.

We strongly advocate for continued practice outside of sessions, assigning relevant homework that reinforces covered concepts. Regularly assessing this homework allows us to track progress and adjust our teaching approach as needed.

Subject Tutoring

With experience serving students from public, private, and homeschool environments, we specialize in math and chemistry tutoring from Kindergarten through Grade 12 and College. Our proficiency extends to diverse curricula, including specialized programs like Florida Virtual School (FLVS) math and chemistry courses. Additionally, we are proud to be an approved Step Up Provider within the Education Market Assistant (EMA) system.
